My son has completed two of Karen’s programs and we couldn’t be happier with the results!  The programs are highly effective and Karen is a genuinely caring facilitator who truly wants to see her client to succeed.

I will be forever grateful for the tools my son now has to help guide him throughout his lifetime.  I have confidence he will manage just fine and is finally on a level playing field to maneuver through his adult years.

The only regret I have is not finding Karen sooner.  I know it would have saved us years of frustration.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Karen!!

My son struggles with reading and was basically  looked over at the public school system.  They passed him off as just being an energetic young boy.  They failed to realize that more than half the alphabet caused disorientation, which would be a huge reason why he struggled so much.  A friend recommended Karen and the Davis Dyslexia program.  We jumped at the opportunity to get our son the information and tools his mind needed to be able to read better.  I was impressed with how Karen was able to get through to my son in a way the his brain could understand.  After the course was over, my son was thrilled to have had the experience and he actually thanked me for taking him!  Thank you Karen for giving my son the tools he needed to confidently read better!

I have struggled my entire life with undiagnosed ADHD and Dyslexia. Karen and this program are fantastic. She is caring, understanding, but she also keeps expectations high. On top of that the caring goes beyond just the session but into life and I appreciate it. I still text here on regular occasion to talk through things and get input on life because she carries so much empathy and understanding towards the way my brain works.

My son will be 13 next week and he just completed Karen‘s reading program. Kare has a personal understanding of what the child and families experience when their child is struggling and I personally connected with her on this level. It is very apparent that Karen has a genuine passion in wanting to see my son improve and succeed. During the week of the program my son was so incredibly happy and more confident than I have seen him in a very long time. Our family is very excited to see how all the tools he learned in the program will help him be more successful and help increase his confidence in the classroom and in every aspect of life.  As a parent, I can truly that I really enjoyed working with someone who understood the difficulties and emotional roller coaster that we have faced as a family. She took the time to explain what my son was learning and how we can support him in this journey. Karen is simply wonderful! I am so excited to see what is in store for my son

Karen worked so well with my 10 year old daughter to work through some processing issues related to her being dyslexic and years of struggling with math. I was pretty skeptical but after just the first day I could see how the tools she was teaching were really helping to equip us to work through not just math but her anxieties that came from her challenges at school and learning overall. I am forever grateful for this program!!! Karen really knows what she is doing and has a tremendous heart for understanding the kids and the family dynamics with the dyslexic mind. Which has so many gifts we never were able to recognize before we worked with this program. Highly recommend her assessment and program.


My daughter is 22 years old graduating from CSU-Fort Collins. While doing OK in middle-school / high-school, studying, learning, retaining did not come easy for her. She often did not like school, did not enjoy learning, became anxious around testing - especially, standardized testing (e.g., SAT, ACT, etc.). We decided to try Karen's certified program when she was a freshman at college. While the home-away distance (i.e., I live in Northern CA) made some of the (post-program) remote-sessions difficult, we managed to find a way to do it.  
After the first few weeks of utilizing the techniques, she became more confident, enthusiastic, and engaged about/with her college classes. She observed she was doing better in-classes and with studying. Obviously, this initial success was reinforcing for her (...and me) and motivated her to both use the techniques and continue through her 'list-of-words'.  

She is graduating this semester (Spring 2020 - 4 years / 8 semesters) albeit via a semester at home (Northern CA) per COVID-19. What I was able to observe first-hand per her completion of the Spring 2020 semester via on-line classes and independent study was her consistent discipline to schedule time-to-study and ability to stay-on-task to completion for long periods of time (i.e., hours). Finally, her most recent semester grades have been improving every semester (e.g., consistently, above 3.0). Her grade results for the last semester were the best of her college experience.  

While the total of her positive experience in college cannot be attributed to the techniques and habits she learned via the NorCal-Learning Solutions (e.g., inherent maturity, enthusiasm for her chosen major, positive college social connections, growing independence and self-sufficiency), both my daughter and I can trace our working-through-the-program as positive inflection point for her increased enthusiasm for learning and increased confidence in her ability to be successful.

A side-benefit, but a very important tangential result for me, was the opportunity to remain connected / increase my connection with my daughter (...and her college experience) through the program word-exercises. She saw me buying-into the program by my willingness to stay engaged with her/our exercises. I saw her acknowledging that the program was helping her feel more comfortable/confident with learning/schooling.

Hi! I've been meaning to txt you! Andy has been doing amazing! Only 2 weeks of the academy left. His grades are excellent! He's so confident and relaxed and excited! This isn't daunting for him anymore! Thank you so very much! He’s so into studying as it’s not so daunting. His lowest score on his weekly tests is 88. Huge for his confidence.

I know that it has been a while since you've heard from me. I have great news; I passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam!!!… Thank you! I did use my tools. Caught myself twice during the exam in misperception [disorientation] using an exam technique of read setup re-read and one incident of complete block out of a column in a chart towards the end of the exam. Didn't figure that one out until I got home and was studying to take it again. But all in all I was energized rather than demoralized like the previous time.

I wanted to send you an email to say thank you! We have seen such big changes in Ian over the last few days.  

On Saturday just before bed, Carl told him how it was such a nice day. He asked him if he used his tools a lot that day. Ian says "yes, all the time. I don't feel so nervous all the time." I wanted to jump up and down, but I said a casual, "that's pretty cool..." and smiled. 

He has had three dry nights too! He wakes up happier. He's not so irritable. He's a different kid! I live in a different house! It's *amazing*! 

This morning my husband said he was surprised that Ian has improved this much. I agree! To us, these changes are dramatic!! You have changed our life, Karen! Thank you thank you!
