My Story
I discovered Davis Dyslexia in 2005 in a desperate search to find help for my 11 year old son Nathan who struggled academically, socially, and athletically. After trying multiple programs with little success, he still couldn't read, memorize his math facts or write a grammatical paragraph. I was skeptical of ever finding a solution, but after reading The Gift of Dyslexia by Ron D. Davis, I couldn't dismiss Davis's unique and positive approach described in the book. I immediately called Davis Dyslexia Association International and scheduled an assessment. Soon after, Nathan completed the Davis Dyslexia Correction Program.
I didn't see immediate progress in his academics, but Nathan was more confident and less stressed after the program; he was also able to focus and self-regulate. It was a challenge, but he completed all the reading post-program work in a year and then completed the Math Mastery Program when he was 12. By the time he entered junior high, he demonstrated significant improvements in math, reading and academics in general. In high school he blossomed socially and athletically while he took college prep classes not needing any accommodations or support and earned a 3.8 GPA.
My son, a college graduate, is forging ahead in his career as a Business System Analyst and has accomplished more than he ever dared to hope. We attribute his extraordinary transformation entirely to his completing the the Davis Dyslexia Correction® and the Davis® Math Mastery Programs. This life-changing experience inspired me to become a facilitator, so I can assist others in reaching their full potential with the Davis Programs.
As a teacher, experienced coach and Davis Dyslexia and Autism Facilitator, I have assisted children, teenagers and adults in being capable and self-assured - empowered in reaching their goals and confident in their intelligence and skills.
Second to raising my children, being a Davis Facilitator has been the most rewarding and enjoyable job in my life. I am honored to work with incredible clients and their families and blessed to witness the amazing transformation each of my clients has experienced during and after the program.
All NorCal Programs can be done in my home office, at your home, or online.
